Wonder Pickles

Pickles keep in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
Ingredients
3 cucumbers, thinly sliced
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 1/2 cups white vinegar
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp celery seeds
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/4 tsp mustard powder
Preparation
Layer half the cucumber slices in a large glass bowl and top with half the onion. Repeat with the remaining cucumber and onion.
Combine the vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, celery seeds, turmeric, and mustard powder in a saucepan. Stir well and bring to a boil. Cook for 1 minute, then pour over the cucumber and onion mixture. Let cool completely.
Cover and refrigerate for 4 days before serving. Pickles keep in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
