Thai-Style Turkey Burgers

These are perfect for when you feel like having a banh mi but don't have the time or energy to make up the marinade. Plus, who doesn't like burgers?

Ingredients


Patties

1 egg

2 tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce or Tamari

1/3 cup fresh cilantro, minced

1/4 cup green onion, thinly sliced

1 1/2 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

2 garlic cloves, minced

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 lb ground turkey

1/3 cup fine bread crumbs


Toppings

Sliced red onion

Shredded Napa cabbage

Additional cilantro

4 hamburger buns

Fresh spinach

Banh mi pickled veggies


Preparation

  1. Whisk together egg and soy sauce in a bowl. Stir in cilantro, green onion, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper. Add turkey and bread crumbs; mix well with your hands, then shape into 4 patties.

  2. Head a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add patties; cook, covered, turning once, 12 to 15 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer reads 165 degrees F. Serve with desired toppings and buns.
